Best Security and Privacy Conferences
Security publishing is unusually concentrated: the "big four" — IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, CCS and NDSS — carry most of the field's reputational weight, all at A* and all with acceptance rates below 20%. USENIX Security and CCS run multiple submission cycles per year, which changes the calculus on timing.
Below them, ESORICS, ACSAC, RAID and PETS are the strongest second-tier options, with PETS the default for privacy-specific work. Applied cryptography sits partly in this list and partly under theory.
